Classics - Ancient World
"The classics" and "classical literature" are terms that traditionally refer to works from the ancient world written in Greek or Latin. This term can also include works from other ancient cultures. The time period broadly spans from around 1000 BC to 500 AD. The period immediately preceding classical literature is sometimes referred to as Bronze Age literature, spanning from approximately 2600 BC to 1000 BC.
