It consists of approximately 35,000 books, manuscripts, and periodicals directly related to the history of Southern Baptists. Other special collections focus on the Civil War, Kentucky, original art in children’s literature, and the papers of Clyde T. Fransisco. The archives division consists of documents, print materials, photographs, and media that go back to 1906 when the Russell Creek Academy was founded. Campbellsville University grew from this academy.
