Library Instruction

By using the form linked above, faculty may request a classroom visit by Jonathan Lehtonen, the Instruction & Reference Specialist. Sessions can be as short or long as needed, and they may include the following:

  • Basic introduction to library resources and database search strategies
  • Assignment-based instruction
    • Instruction on finding resources for student assignments 
    • Content tailored to the individual needs of a class
  • Instruction on plagiarism, AI, and writing with integrity (more info here)
  • Instruction on information literacy, fact-checking, and avoiding misinformation (more info here)
  • Library tours: how to locate and check out print books at the front desk

Modes of Instruction:

  • In-classroom instruction at main campus, Campbellsville, KY 
  • Synchronous online instruction on Teams or Zoom for courses online and at regional centers

Fall and Spring Semester Availability:

In general, instruction may be scheduled during the following times, but please click the request form link above to check Jonathan's availability on particular days (Eastern Time Zone):

Mondays 8 am - 5 pm 
Tuesdays 8 am - 2:30 pm
Wednesdays 5 pm - 8 pm 
Thursday 8 am - 5 pm
Fridays 8 am - 12 pm

Jonathan Lehtonen is the Instruction & Reference Specialist at the Montgomery Library. He holds and MA in English from Pennsylvania State University and an EdM in Applied Linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University. He previously taught English composition courses here at Campbellsville University. Prior to that, Jonathan taught English/ESL writing courses at Pennsylvania State University, the Community Language Program at Columbia University in New York, and Kean University.
