Evaluating OER

Considerations when evaluating Open Educational Resources:

  • Relevance: Is the content relevant to your research or course objectives?
  • Accuracy: Is the information accurate, clear, and free of major omissions?
  • Ease of use: Is the interface easy to navigate?
  • Appropriateness: Do you need scholarly, peer-reviewed content?
  • Licensing: Do you need material that is licensed to allow remixing or modification?
  • Accessibility: Is the information available in alternative formats for students who may need it?
