When you're ready to begin, the ETD will prompt you to decide how to publish your dissertation.
You have two options, Traditional and Open Access.
The first option, Traditional Publishing, allows for the work to be widely available and be eligible to receive royalties based on the sale of the work. This option does not have an additional charge for publication. The abstract and citation will be available on Web of Science & Google Scholar.
The second option, Open Access, allows for the broadest possible dissemination of work and provides free global access to the electronic copy. This option will not allow the author the ability to receive royalties and also requires a $95 fee to ProQuest for publication. By picking this option, your work will be available with a full text link on Web of Science & Google Scholar.
Regardless which option is picked, all thesis/dissertation will be available through ProQuest Dissertations & Theses, iParadigms and Dissertation Express, and that a citation/abstract may appear in some indexes (e.g. SciFinder, MathSciNet, PsycINFO, etc.) unless requested otherwise.
Once you have decided on what type of publication you wish to pursue, you will be asked to sign an agreement with ProQuest, an agreement for publication within the institutional repository, and a University agreement. Please make sure to read through these agreements, and save a copy for your records.
Once all agreements have be read and signed, you will provide your contact information. Verify all information is correct before submitting your dissertation/thesis for publication. This information will be used for any purchases such as bound copies, Open Access publishing, and U.S. Copyright registration.
Once you've provided your contact information, it's time to provide the details for your degree. Here, you'll also provide the details for your dissertation/thesis.
Before you upload your PDF, verify that all signed documents are included within your PDF. These documents include any signature pages required from your committee, any forms signed by the the IR departments to conduct research, etc. Also verify all graphs loaded into your PDF are correctly inserted.
Once all verification between you and department is complete, it's time to upload your thesis/dissertation.
If you have any questions or additional information that you would like the library to have, please provide that information within the Note section.
